How property tenure plays a part in an ECO 3 installation
Written by [email protected]
For installers working under the ECO scheme, the tenure of a property now plays an important role in determining the eligibility of an installation under ECO3.
Assurance surrounding privately rented properties can be obtained through the landlord permission form, tenancy agreement and pre installation EPCs.
Further assurance is now required for owner occupied properties and our advice regarding this is to always have the registered owner of the property listed, and make sure that all the installation paperwork is signed.
Under circumstances where the owner of the property is not the primary contact listed on the installation paperwork, further evidence is required. For example, when the husband is the registered owner of the property however the wife is listed on the installation paperwork.
1) The declaration shown below would need to be signed by the registered owner
2) Proof of residence must also be provided for both the registered owner and the customer
