ECO4 Solar PV Installations

Ofgem have recently clarified their guidance on ECO4 Solar PV Installations. The clarification of the Solar PV eligibility which can be viewed here and is summarised below:

For any on-gas premises with an existing hydronic heat pump, HHR ESH or EHS (with a SAP responsiveness of greater than 0.8) are still eligible for solar PV installations and remain unchanged.

For both off-gas and on-gas premises receiving a hydronic heat pump, HHR ESH or ESH (with a SAP responsiveness of greater than 0.8) as part of the same project as solar PV are eligible and also remain unchanged.

The ECO4 Order does not permit the installation of solar PV in off-gas premises with an existing hydronic heat pump, high heat retention electric storage heaters (ESH) or electric heating systems (with a SAP responsiveness of greater than 0.8).

Ofgem have released their latest list of approved innovation products, which can be found on their website here: www.ofgem.gov.uk

Allume Energy’s SolShare System, model number SOLSHARE-3P-XX-YY, has been approved for use on flats and would receive a 45% score uplift.

Solar PV delivered as an innovation measure can still be installed in on and off-gas homes with a hydronic heat pump, HHR ESH or electric heating system (with a SAP responsiveness of greater than 0.8).
